Ubuntu 12.10 problems.

Hi people.

Does any of you have any problems booting ubuntu 12.10 after fresh installation ? I mean when launching and after shutting down normaly.

In my cse, it messes up w/ my filesystem and it won't boot unless i fsck /dev/sda1 and fix the errors. It's probably because it does't umount while shutting down?I press the shutdown icon to shut down.

Any ideas?

I also noticed, that i don't get the grub menu in the beginning, only once after i fsck when fails to boot.Otherwise it boots w/o showing anything.

It happens every time i boot nowadays, the fs is messed up.I also noticed that when shutting down, lock and something else says not mounted and / is busy.Could be this the problem?

I believe it's not umount when it shuts down.

---greek traslation cuz the TS is greek and I will give many solutions in Greek

I also can't see what the ISO should have to do with an installed system and why you try to drive members here to a greek forum when their English is perfectly fine.

On-Topic: This is a well known bug in Ubuntu 12.10: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...x/+bug/1073433
This is something that happens only on Ubuntu (maybe some derivatives), just because Ubuntu seems to be the only distro that is not able to shutdown properly. This is a purely cosmetic issue, so you shouldn't worry about it.
Better explanation here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...33/comments/12

Tobi well said.I am a member of linuxquestions.org since 2006.I wouldn't trust anything else.I am here because i want to.I wouldn't go to something else. You did well to say what you said.I don't like to be driven away from the places i like.Besides this is against the rules. My bad i didn't mention it when he said it.

That's what i thought too, what the ISO got to do w/ the problems i am encoutering?

Anyway, is there any solution out yet ? Or better wait for 13.04?

Re install perhaps?
