ubuntu 12.04 works on my asus 1215n ,but gets a little warm

ubuntu 12.04 works well on my asus 1215n but does get a little warm. i get over 3 hours on the battery, but almost always use connected to the power..my question is will i damage the pc using ubuntu 12.04. or should i switch back to windows 7 that came installed and runs much cooler?
i much prefer ubuntu.

As I see this netbook has the Nvidia Ion2 graphics chip. There may be issues with powersaving in the open source drivers, have you tried to install the proprietary Nvidia drivers?
