So I partitioned the hard drive, burned the disc and booted it its fine until the screen goes black and I get a series of error messages

I attached them to the post they are weird and are just a bunch of numbers with an io error i assume it has to do with a bad burn ?

Thanks

Looks like a bad burn to me.

I agree, try burning at x5 and check the checksum before using it.
Also, you did burn as iso image, right?

As well as using the checksum to make sure the iso downloaded safely, and burning slowly, you can get the disk to check itself: press a key when you see the odd symbol at the bottom of the black screen, and choose the disk check from the menu.

One other easy option. If you have access to the K3B program, under "Tools". "Burn Image",the dialog box has a check box for "verify". I always use this, and have found a few discs with previously unknown bad sectors.

What program are you using to burn the disk?

blacktopper 04-17-2013 06:46 PM

The burning program is called "K3B" and is available for free to use in most linux distros.

I was asking Jack321 which program he used to burn the disk.
