Wink Ubuntu 11.04 upgrade nightmare

Well, it had to happen sooner than later I suppose. I had been deliriously happy with Ubuntu 10.10, but because I had always been successful in upgrading Operating Systems to date, I thought what the hell ... go for it - New and Shiny - what can go wrong?. The download took forever, possibly due to heavy traffic on line, and after what seemed an eternity for the files to download, the whole system froze and refused to boot back up. I initiated the re-start button on my computer and it all went blank ... the POST came up and then a great black void. Well I remember the horrible days of Windows and the frustrations of trying everything to get it up-and-running ... hour after hour of hair pulling anger at not achieving any success at fixing the damned thing. Decision time minimised ... scrap the lot and do a clean Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) install.
Outcome Perfect.
Okay, I spent a good few hours returning the beast to it's former glory, but in the long term my temper was saved and my nerves are still in one piece.
Advice: It may be a hassle to perform a clean install etc ... but it's worth it.

I'd suggest to consider changing the distribution.....
I upgraded my server from Slackware64-13.1 to Slackware64-13.37 automatically with slackpkg in about 20 Minutes without any problems.
