ubuntu 11.04, connecting to the internet
 

I installed ubuntu 11.04 alongside with windows7. When logged in the firefox button shows up but the connection to the internet doesn't work: www.startup.ubuntu not found. The windows7 connects alright. What should I do.

More info please. Is it wired or wireless? If wireless, test with a wired connection (dollars to doughnuts it works), then let us know what kind of wireless chipset you have.

If you're not sure about that, open a terminal ("command window") and run the command lspci. That will list your pci devices and the wireless chipset should be included. Then post the result here.
