Well, with Windows we can see if you are using DHCP and such information (the output of ipconfig /all).

If you know it you may post this information here.

If it doesn't work with your Windows either, check if there is a button on the Computer with which you can enable/disable the wireless-adapter (but since it is a pcmcia-card this is probably not the dase) is the card inserted/connected correctly to the computer?

If you have a wireless router, I'd recommend to restart the router! unplug the powerplug of the router, wait a minute and plug it in again, then it will need some minutes until the router and the wireless network is back again.

Afterwards try with both Operatingsystems if you can connect.

You may use the iwlist command in Linux, look at the manpage
Code:
man iwlist
if your network shows up.

Ok I do have a switch and I already have tried it a number of times it does work but no change after.
I go back between routers two different connections and I have reset both already.
BUt I'll try to turn it off for 60sec and see how that does.

yeah no change still searching

the command results

is wlan0 up? then there is something wrong with your wireless network, not with the computer.

Well, I'll take off my computer now as well.

I'd recommend to check, if the wireless Accesspoint is correctly configured and if the wireless lan is on (maybe it is off after restarting it).

I would suggest to verify your wireless access point.
Try to reboot the router.
Then try to use no encryption and see if it works.
If all this fails, I would reset the router to the default settings and start from there.

Kind regards

it's not the network other computers are accessing internet fine and i have restarted the routers, keep in mind it's not one router I have access too but two.
Everything was working fine until I installed the additional drivers the Broadcom STA and B43 this is the reason I can't access wireless Internet in windows as well.
Since these drivers are not supported by linux could it be that they are not working properly, also i read somewhere that there are three possibilities the B43 STI (I think)and NDISwrapper?

Question I did install the STA and B43 could it be possible that I need to complete remove one of them since it may be causing a conflict?
