you actually DID NOT do it, but just said you did? The suggestion and your post saying you did it were six minutes apart...
Once again...go through a working kernel (make menuconfig), and see how it's set up. Build your new one to look like it. Since you're doing it yourself, YOU will have to go through it bit by bit, to see what makes things work for YOU.
