Ubunto linux grub loader error 21
My dell computer has 2 hard drives and Windows XP.
I installed linux on and used the entire 2nd hard drive for linux in partioning. It told me to load Grub so I could choose whether or not to boot into Windows XP or choose linux. When I restarted, I got an error 21. I booted up on a Win98 boot diskette and ran fdisk /mbr to fix the master boot record. Then XP booted fine. When this happens how can I get to my install over on my 2nd hard drive of Linux? I've searched threads suggesting ways to fix this but it appears I have to do this in linux and I can't get there. Any suggestions? Sorry I misspelled ubuntu on subject line. Thanks! |
Grub or NTLDR
Since the first time I used Linux, I chose to boot it with the NTLDR. I think that it's much more easier, because I have to re-install XP every 3 months (my family......). Look around and use the "dd" command, it will help you to do what I'm telling you.

Thank you for your reply. I will try that.
