UberStudent - Problem With Grub

Hello, I am quite new to the Linux system, and have decided to choose UberStudent as my preferred OS for doing work, such as Programming.

Everything went well with the first stages of installation, I installed it on a USB stick by the way, 15.5 GB.

I had Root 3.2 GB, Home (Whatever Space), and Swap Space 1.2 GB, partitioned, but near the end, it told me that my Grub hadn't installed correctly, and that I will have to manually configure it.

But I don't know how to configure Grub. I checked several forums but I don't really understand their methods.

Any help would be much appreciated.

UberStudent is another of the many derivatives of Ubuntu so much of what applies to Ubuntu will apply to it. The link below explains several method to install the Grub bootloader. 3.2GB seems a little small for a root partition but I'm not familiar with Uber Stuent. Did you install it from a DVD?

Yes, I installed it from the official DVD which usually comes with Linux Magazine issues.

Then you can use the DVD to reinstall Grub using one of the methods at the link I posted.

Please insert the UberStudent installation medium, boot in to it, and then from Applications menu > Administration run Boot Repair, choosing the option to "fix common problems."

If this does not fix your issue, please make an account at the UberStudent Forums and post about the issue. The developers only rarely see posts about UberStudent here.
