Question Two Monitor Setup

I just setup Ubuntu 8.04 and I cannot figure out how to setup so both monitors act as one. I ordered an Ubuntu book, but it will not be here until the end of the week. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What is your graphics card and (more importantly) driver? NVidia uses TwinView in the xorg.conf file. Googling it should give you some good literature to read.

It is an ATI B2. It came with a installation CD. I don't know about the driver. How can I get it to work?

Good luck. I know it can be done, but I had such a difficult time getting dual screens going w/ an ATI 9550, I bought an Nvidia card. Its easy w/ Nvidia... Might easier nowdays w/ ATI, but knowing ATI, I doubt it.

Solved

Guys, I just want to say thanks for the generous and sincere efforts to help me. I solved the problem by upgrading to 8.10 and going to Display and clicking next to the box displayed. The second display showed up and that was it. Thanks again.
