two displays - how do I make work the second?
 
Hi all,

I have two displays - how do I make work the second?
I installed "arandr", what next? The second display still doesn't work under linux (but it does work under windows... Could you please kindly help to perform all required steps?

Please tell me more details about GUI, how can I check in console what kind of GUI I have. Maybe you mean what kind of desktop? It is Lubuntu 14.04.1 LTS.

so it looks like you have an intel VGA. Lubuntu 14.04.1 LTS itself is not a desktop, the desktop is for example Gnome, Unity or KDE. Also it looks like kernel loaded the driver (i915). try to use xrandr to configure your display

xrandr use
 
Hi,
Code:

xrandr -q
Should give you info about what and how displays are connected to your machine and their current resolutions.
On my computer, my screens are “VGA1″ and “HDMI1″.To make one large desktop including both screens (Extended Desktop), I run this command:

xrandr --output VGA1 --right-of HDMI1
That is all it takes. You can play around with it set individual resolutions etc...
