Unhappy tv/radio tuner application

I have an AverTV Studio tv/radio tuner. When I installed Mandrake 9.0, it recognized my tv tuner as some other tuner
What application would I have to use to get it working.
I understand that I may have to change my tv card but I would like to try it out to see if that would be necessary.

How do I go about it ?

once again, should be working by default, try an applcaitinp like xawtv, zapping or kwintv, which are all on your distro cd's.
