Turning off GUI in Auditor Secuity Collection
Hi.
I am using Auditor Security Collection (or learning to use it actually) and I was wondering if it is possible to turn off the GUI to make the battery last longer. The programs that I need to run are basically AiroDump and Kismet. If I manage to turn off the GUI will this actually affectively increase battery life? If I turn off GUI can I run the programs mentioned above? How would I disable the GUI? and in KDE I can run Kismet and Airodump at the same time and switch between them easily - is this going to be possible with a command line? Unfortunately, I will probably not be able to use Auditor for at least a week so any replies that I get I will think about, record and have to try later but I would still love to know if this is even possible (which I see no reason why it can't be done). Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. |
Is this a program that you are running on a laptop unattended? Just close the lid to turn of the display. That will probably do the most to preserve the battery.
