ts_calibrate does not generate /etc/pointercal

Hi,

I am using qt for embedded linux application. I installed both qt and tslib correctly. when I run ts_calibrate it gives me calibration data values but never creates pointercal in etc.
I went through internet and some say give necessary permission for etc.My system is read only.I don't know whether this is the reason for not generating pointercal. I made rootfs read write . but the problem didn't solve. what should I do?

thanks.
