Trying to triple boot 3 Linux OSes
Hello,
I am trying to triple boot 3 Linux distros. Suse 9.1, FC 2 and MDK X and need help. I have SuSe 9.1 now occupying hda, and FC2 on hdb.. What I was planning to do is to resize Suse 9.1 to make enough free space to reinstall MDK. All of them will be using grub, but the question is how do I get it to let me add the entries in grub so I can easily update the menu.lst so everything will boot? I do not see why its easy for Linux to setup dual boot with Windows but yet it won't with other Linux distros. Thanks |

grub needs to be installed and all 3 of your OS's............. boot into each of them, one at a time and edit the menu.lst yourself...........dont try to let some autoboot/autoupdate program do this for you............. |
When you install Mandrake, just choose to skip installing the bootloader. Boot whichever system has the currently used menu.lst, and edit it in a text editor. Copy/paste an existing linux section, and change the name and the partition to boot from - then you should be done.
