Cool Trying to set up Cable Modem

I am trying to get connected with my RH9 Box and am using adelphia cable modem.......dhcp.

I have installed a new eth card linksys fast ether 10/100.

I am getting this error message when I try to activate:

siocsifflags: cannot assign requested address

I am not much of a hacker but I understand pc's pretty good. this is my first distro and first thing I am trying to set up on my rh box.

if there is another thread dealing with this just point me in that direction.

Sincerely,

Danielallan

What command are you actually running that generates that error given? Have you configured your ethernet card which should use the tulip driver?

modprobe tulip
