trying to mount windows harddrive
the subject says it all, I believe my distro is redhat, and windows it 2000 pro with ntsf

Red Hat Linux does not support NTFS out-of-the box, as Red Hat doesn't want any legal issues by supporting NTFS.
( this is the same reason why Red Hat does not support MP3 out-of-the-box anymore, all due to legal issues. ) However, there is a very good internet page for helping those people who do want NTFS support in their Red Hat Linux distribution, go to the following URL : http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/info/redhat.html |
Go to http://www.google.be
Search for: Red Hat 8.0 ntfs rpm Install the kernelupdate according to your kernelversion. Now u can use the mount command (typ: man mount) or you can download webmin (a very handy tool wich I use to mount my drives). In this webmin go to system --> disks & networkfilesystems --> add mount (ntfs) and so on. |
