Trying to install wxPerl module

I am trying to install the wxPerl module on Linspire 5.0
I found out it needs wxWidgets first so I compiled wxWidgets for X11, but wxPerl is still not compiling. It seems that wxPerl is only compatible with wxWidgets for GTK+. but not X11

Does that mean I would have to install GTK ? Will KDE still work after that?

Basically though I am just trying to install wxPerl so I can program GUI in perl.

Is there another way to do that? Or is the above process the only way?

Thanks for the help,

Babambar

GTK is just a set of libraries, so you can have them installed and working at the same time as you have KDE running. Most apps programed with GTK will work just fine under KDE (I can not think of an exception off the top of my head).

I do not know if installing GTK will fix your problems, as I have not played with wxPerl (and I have GTK installed), but it will do no harm to KDE to install them.
