Trying to install RH9 on mobo with i845 chipset

I'm trying to install RedHat 9.0 desktop but
my 845GC mother board dose't support both floppy
and IDE hard drive. So I now use a USB disk and SATA hard
drive instead. When the installer ask me to put SATA device driver on floppy and isert it to kda what can I do???

I think Gurus here and senior members are really not going to like the title of this thread as they feel using titles like Urgent is rude here in community driven. And rightly so, people give their time so answer and help others. I may not have rights to say anything though.

Anyhow, RH9 is way behind and you need something really new to install it on SATA. If you need linux for desktop purposes go and get something like Ubuntu or Fedora or Mandriva.
Better option is to get the live cd and try it before you install so that you get the feel of what a distro is like and if you are comfortable with the look and feel.
If you need server then RHEL5 is better option. And if you do not want to pay for the updates and get the subscription better get CentOS 5.1

That is indeed very helpful and any newbie joining LQ or writing here for the first time should go through it.

Try a more recent distro? You wouldn't expect Win98 to
install on that hardware w/o issues, would you?
