trying to install ipw3945 on Debian Linux- not working!! Load failed: -2

Jimbo:~# dmesg | grep ipw
ipw3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945 Network Connection driver for Linux, 1.1.2dmpr
ipw3945: Copyright(c) 2003-2006 Intel Corporation
ipw3945: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
ipw3945: ipw3945.ucode load failed: Reason -2
ipw3945: Could not read microcode: -2
ipw3945: probe of 0000:0c:00.0 failed with error -2

This is what shows when it boots. I've tried looking around for solutions
but I'm not getting anywhere.
Any help???

Also, I'm very new to Linux so please understand.

Thanks

It looks like you didn't install the firmware:

apt-cache search iwlwifi
firmware-iwlwifi - Binary firmware for Intel Wireless 3945 and 4965

apt-get install firmware-iwlwifi

Of course it doesn't help that the package name seems completely unrelated ...
