Trying to install Fluxbox with nothing but problems.

I'm a new user to the Linux world, and loving it. For the last 6 months now I've been building my knowledge base, but I've hit a dead end tring to install Fluxbox.

I downloaded the rpm from the fluxbox website, and upon install I had a dependency issue. The program requires pyxdg, I further found the tarball for this pyxdg-0.15. After installing this program with python, I still get the dependency issue. Am I doing something wrong?

Please can someone lead me in the right direction. I'm using Fedora 4.

THanks for all help,
~wHITEY

You did absolutely nothing wrong. It's just that the package you compiled doesn't get recognized by rpm. If that was the only package that was necessary, try forcing the rpm install with rpm -i --nodeps fluxbox-whatever.rpm

Hi!

Well, I recommend you take a look at the Unofficial Fedora FAQ - once you've followed the instructions laid out there, a simple "yum install fluxbox" should give you what you're looking for (without the added hassle, of course :P).
