Trying to Install/Configure NIC Card

Hi,

I have actually tried to install a source RPM from:

http://www.scyld.com/network/updates.html

but I'm lost. I can't follow the instructions (can't FTP due to no NIC detected). Can someone tell me how to install the source and compile the binary and get it all set up. The source is under the heading of "Using the Source RPM Package". I'm using Redhat 7.2 and this is a new, fast PC :-)

I can download it to /dos (mounted \windows\desktop).

TIA

If you are using Redhat 7.2 then most likely the network drivers are already included. All you have to do is load the module.

Try finding out which nic you have installed to see which module you need. Don't use redhat but it should have a configuration program where you can easily select your nic and get it set up properly.

Okay, the modules are there, but it won't initialize the card and let me add it. It was there when I installed, but it wouldn't work.

I have at least 3 more cards laying around. I'll try switching cards.
