trying to install belkin f5d7000 wireless card
 

Hi all I'm brand new to linux and it's system. my son said it was easy to use but I'm not use to loading programs.so far what i have done is downloaded ndalwrapper and i think i have it installed.but i know my card is good but the lites that tell u it's on don't work i took the card out of my old unit and was working great.is there something that turns on the pci slots ?.the unit is a QBIC with an amd chip.

Can you find what version of this card you have. It might have a native linux module that we can install so you don't have to mess with ndiswrapper. ** Personal Opinion ** but I don't really care much for ndiswrapper.

it says rev a on the card it self.the card works great in xp.also the card when it is in the pci slot looks dead but i can use the hard wire slot and can get on firefox.and i wish to thank you for your help

Try to see if the card says anything like FD57000 v3 or v.5000 or v.6000. also this might help. try opening up a console and typing in
this will output information to a text file called hardwareinfo.txt in your home directory. Try running this as your self. Then copy the text into your next post so we can look it over. That may give us a better clue. As of now here are the following chipsets that your particular adapter might use.

1. Broadcom
2. Atheros
3. Ralink

this is what i got off the back of the card, belkin wireless G desktop card. P/N F5D7000V7.P1009tG.VER 7032and the number on the mirco chip is RTL8185L.I'll run the hardware info soon.if you need it. Again thank you for your help and time

Ok so here is the native driver. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Downloads=true
just download the one next to the unix/linux and then unzip the file and follow the installation instructions.

Also could you supply what linux distribution that you are using. IE - Ubuntu, Slackware, Debian or so forth
