trying to dual boot but need help with wireless issues

im not exactly a noob but i still have a loooooong way to go before im ready to march (random penguin joke)
i was using 9.04 ubuntu then went through a couple of computers in a few weks cuz i was reselling the old one to get the new one etc. i ended up with a Compaq 6910p, 4 GB RAM and a Core2 Duo intel. i had to go back to windows7 ultimate to get a working wireless card because i was having issues with the firmware drivers. now i have 10.04 ubuntu installed along with windows 7 ultimate. the issue im having is that ubuntu lists the broadcom STA drivers in the hardware drivers but when i go to activate it it says it cannot fetch the archive. i need to know how i can go in through windows to DL the drivers and drop it onto either my thumb drive or onto my external and then reboot into linux and install the drivers so i can use my wireless card either way.
