im using a newer version of gtkmm,why am i getting this error?

Probably because you don't have cairomm installed.

Did you do a full install of Slackware? If so, you've got ImageMagick. And, yes, there is a correct order in which to install the dependencies. You can find out off their respective SlackBuild pages.

From errors you've shown, it's probably because your gtkmm was too new and not compatible with the version of cairomm you installed. For simplicity, just start it all over, remove that gtkmm-2.4 and use the one that SlackBuilds.org provide, which is version 2.12.5.
