try install host ; bind9-host uninstalled , how to undo sudo apt-get install host?

Dear all,

I was installing ns2, may be it was not complete and I tried to run an example. It gave me the following message:
The program 'ns' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install host
bash: ns: command not found

So I typed sudp apt-get install host, it gave me messages like,

dpkg: bind9-host: dependency problems, but removing anyway as you request:
avahi-daemon depends on bind9-host | host; however:
Package bind9-host is to be removed.
Package host is not installed.

......

I think I had done something terrible. Is there anyway to get the previous system back? Can I undo what I did by the command sudo install host?

Thank you very much for your time and attention.
