troubleshooting red hat linux enterprise 4 ES (drive issue?)
hi all,
I'm installing the above for the first time and I'm currently stuck at 1 portion of the installation. I have downloaded the ISO images (4 CDs) and copied the files into C drive. Currently Windows 2003 Server is running on this system (poweredge 2850) I'm able to boot up from the boot CD that I have created (using bootdisk.img - burned using Nero). I've selected the language and keyboard. Upon selecting the hard disk installation, an error indicating that the system is unable to find any devices for the hard disk installation and requested to manually select driver / use a driver disk. Both options was also unsuccessful. 1. Did I missed out any steps? 2. Am I using the correct boot disk image? Is the boot diskette required? 3. Since I've copied the ISO images into C drive, how would the system know later where is it since linux is having a different naming convention for its drives? 4. Is there any other installation type that I can use considering that I only have the ISO images? Thanks in advance -LJT- |
Hi,
If you have ISO's then you can burn them on a cd and make installation cd's. Once you have the installation cd's, put them in the drive and reboot. The computer should pick up the iso cd in your cd drive and get you started with installation. Tux, |
