Trouble with wireless
 

I’m completely new to Linux. Just installed the 11.04 version yesterday.

Could you run me through step by step on how to get this wireless driver issue resolved?

I’m running a Dell Inspiron 640m, with broadcomm adapters. I don’t know the exact serial though.

I’ve hit a roadblock updating the plugins because of the wireless problem.

At first, just for clarification, you have installed Ubuntu 11.04, not Linux 11.04. Ubuntu is only one of many flavors of Linux out there (called disribution, in short distro).
The easiest way to get the necessary drivers is to connect to a wired network and let the hardware drivers program do the work. I think in Ubuntu 11.04 you can find it in the System settings menu, which is somewhat hidden, you have to press the power button on the top right of the screen to find it.
