Trouble with samba again

I am attempting to set up some samba shares on a fresh Debian install. I followed the instructions in this tutorial:http://www.linux.com/learn/tutorials...ty-samba-setup

I'm using the file manager to mount them by typing smb://server/share
That will bring up a window populated with my user name and workgroup and ask for my password. I type my password but it won't accept it.

I did create a samba password on the server and used the same password as my Linux password for the user.

I'm the only user on my network and I just want a quick easy configuration that lets me mount, read and write
