trouble some package ekiga wont go away


even when i run the dangerous command of

dpkg --force-all purge ekiga

it spews out a ton of bitching AND ITS STILL THERE!!!


i gotta delete it because of huge dependency problems on a fresh install even!


i cant even read half the crap it spews out so i cant post it sorry


edit is there a way to manually 'rm' the thing?

Manually removing the files could be extremely dangerous.

What are the error messages it's spewing out?

nah neverminds im not putting up with it id radther do like my 50th attempt at a fresh install

Oooookay - if I may make one suggestion, when installing Debian, DO NOT select the "Desktop Environment" checkbox during the installer. It'll cut your install time down to about 15 minutes (as opposed to an hour and a half - at least).

i tried both its hopeless ive tried 4 different cds (netinst small-cd xfce-cd1 kde-cd1) ive tried selecting just the base install and ive tried selecting desktop....

it never fails in the same spot ether oh no its always different sometimes it fails at partitioning sometimes it pisses me off at the very end sometimes its in between....


stupid powerpc processor needs more support....

um if a fresh install formats your hd, theres no way dependency problems can happen, why dontyew try that? ekiga is a video conferencing sw btw.
