trouble mounting ntfs system

Using debian 3.1 testing.

from: fstab:
/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows ntfs rw,users,umask=022,quiet

I have not trouble mounting this with:

mount -t ntfs /dev/hda1 /mnt/windows

More than likely it is not mounting because of the rw parameter. (assuming you have a kernel module to support the ntfs filesystem format) Most linux's will only mount ntfs as readonly since the format itself is patent protected. try changing rw to ro and see if that helps.
