Hi,
I am trying to configure and install pcmcia drivers for the cisco aironet 350 wireless NIC on redhat 7.2 (kernel 2.4.7-10 i686) and keep getting the same error 'linux source tree /usr/src/linux is incomplete or missing, configuration failed'. This is after i unpacked pcmcia-cs-3.1.26.tar.gz into /usr/src. I then cd to pcmcia-cs-3.1.26 and run 'make config' and this is where i get the above error. By default 'make config' looks in /usr/src/linux for the kernel. There was no linux directory in /usr/src so i created one and then downloaded both the 2.4.7-10 i686 kernel and the 2.4.7-10 i 386 kernel into the /usr/src/linux directory (on separate occasions) and both give me the same error after running 'make config'. Should i have not created the linux directory? Do i even have to download the kernel.....shouldn't the rpm files be in a default directory somewhere? I read through some of the HOWTO doc and nothing jumped out at me but I could have overlooked something. The redhat install was on a Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop and I don't have the NIC in the slot while installing the drivers (because it's not in the building at the moment). Is that the potential problem? By the way the i386 kernel was 23 MB and the i686 kernel was only 9 MB.....did I download the right kernels? This may be the problem. Perhaps someone can point me to the right URL if this is my problem. I went to
http://www.jwfarrell.com/help/linux/...7-10.i386.rpm.
Thanks in advance for any help.
