Unhappy Trouble installing kde-partitionmanager because of missing dependency-libparted.so.0

Greetings all =) I've looked everywhere for help (including LQ) so hope I haven't missed this but I'm trying to install kde-partitionmanager and it keeps telling me I'm missing a dependency (libparted.so.0). The trouble is I have libparted installed, but it's a later version and I don't seem to have 'libparted.so.0' installed (I have 'libparted.so.1'). Anyway, being a Linux newbie ( =( ) I'm constantly /facepalming myself but this is *really* starting to bother me so I'd appreciate *any* advice or help you might be able to provide. Thanks in advance and please be easy on me--this is my first post <embarassed grin> :-)

You might try GParted. It is pretty much the "industry standard".

Welcome to LQ.

Recommended : Use a live cd for partitioning : Gparted,
like said by @fingers99.

( KDE Partition Manager is also available as a bootable Live CD :
http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=89595 )

.
