trouble installing GTK themes

Okay here goes...wanna change my theme in RH 9...okay...so I put a bunch of GTK themes on disk ( yes they were tar.gz files) and then saved them to a folder on my hard drive. Then I open up my themes window from the preferences tab and click on install theme. I click on browse and it does its thing and I direct it exactly where it should go, click install theme and voila! nothing. So then it tells you you can drag and click...yeah that is also a no go. What am I not doing or doing wrong? Is it because I don't have any type of unzipping program like WinZip? Or at least I don't have one I'm aware of. Soooo.....HELP!!!:Pengy:

You need to unzip them to install them. Im suprized you don't have file-roller or Ark. If you are using Gnome, (which you should) you can right click on the archive to extract it in Nautilus.
