trouble finding cdrom

alright so here's whats up. I just installed Mandrake 10.0 and this is my 1st time using linux. I have several burnt videos on generic cds, they were burnt on a windows os, but anyway, when I open them the window has nothing in it, completely blank! I've tried going into konsole and typed all that mount/mnt/cdrom crap with little response. so someone please help me!
