I'm on Mandrake 10,0, and I couldn't get stuff to compile, so I logged in as root and did an "urpmi g++"...After that, the program I was working on compiled, but I got an error when trying to run it.
./hw3: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I tried "urpmi libstdc++.so.5" and it said "Everything already installed."

And now I just tried to open firefox...which has always worked...and here's the output:

./firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory


And obviously I have no idea what to do...hrm. If anybody gives advice, please try to give exact commands if you can. Thanks.

all righty, nevermind...i decided i'd rather be lazy, pop in the install cd, and do a quick update. so now i've got everything working...compiling and running alike. yippee skippy.
