trash can icon is not acting the way it shoud


when i put a file in the trash can, the icon dusnt change to show its got stuff in it, it jus has sum custom icon like a folder, i changd the folder icon to a trash can but weni put files in it, it dusnt show nething :-(

im using KDE and redhat 9

iv did that, still doesnt work, also, it wont confirm if a file is to be sent into the trash can, it used 2 confirm before ? now it doesnt ??

did you change the mime type for the folder?

But seriously...
1. Try changing your icon scheme and then changing it back again, checking for the same behavior in different schemes.
2. Right click on the icon, choose properties, click the button with the icon on it, you'll find the trash icons under filesystems. Choose the one you want. Do this with the trash empty and full and choose the proper icon.

iv tried both ur suggestions :-( is there sum sort of script like desktop.ini in windows, for the recycle bin ?? wot do u mean change the mime type ?

wot do u mean nevermind, i am going to mind, i wunt my trash can icons working properly, shal i reinstall linux ?? jkjkz lol, wot do u mean change my icon settings ? i dntno wot the hell i dun ? someone help me fix it plz :-(

i think it has something to do with my .directory settings, i deleted it last time, can someone help me, n the desktop my .directory says this:

[IconPosition:esktop Stuff]

if you change the icon scheme

your mime type will change back even if you changed it so

it doesn't matter


Franklin's suggestion was better

i have changed the icon scheme, it still doesnt work, is there any way i can reset all the settings ? is this got something to do with GNOME or KDE ??

and why wont it show me a confirm dialog /?
