traceroute

Hi,
Can anyone tell me what command can I use to trace route an IP address, and also what is the equivalent command for ipconfig.
In case it matters I'm behind a NATed router, and using mandrake 10.1
Thanks

Incredibly the command to traceroute is 'traceroute' and the equivalent to ipconfig is ifconfig (/sbin/ifconfig).

Sometimes it amazes me that people don't try the obvious before posting...

Thanks for the reply.
I did try the obvious but no one has said to me that I have to login as root .
Anyway I now know, but ifconfig only gives me my private IP address though.

Sorry, perhaps that was a bit harsh :)

Yeah, I'm not sure about getting the global IP address either, but it does show up in p2p apps like gtk-gnutella and phex.

mate, you realise that you unearthed a thread that was dead for 10 years? What's the point you're trying to make?
