Tough mplayer codec question.
I'm trying to view some audio & video streams over the internet and it's not working. Ran mplayer in a terminal so I could see the errors and this is what I got for 2 different sites:
Playing http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news_room/video/rmconsole.php?t=video&f=03_12_29_butchdavis.rm. Resolving www.clevelandbrowns.com for AF_INET... I'm sick of switching to Windows to watch a darn press conference. Thanks |
If you go to www.mplayerhq.hu and follow the links, there is a page with just about every codec you will need - including the RealPlayer ones. Download them and untar them into your codecs directory. You will then be able to view the .rm files.

I downloaded & installed every codec on that page including the 4 labeled for RealPlayer. Doesn't make any difference. Is LMLM4 a codec? I searched the mplayer codecs-status page & it isn't there.

Searching that on Google, I found that it appears to be MPEG-4.
http://www.linuxjournal.com/bg/produ...encing+station - is a link to a page about Linux Media Labs (LML + MPeg 4?) Download it here: http://www.linuxmedialabs.com/LMLCD/LMLM4/LMLM4/ My search, if the links don't work: http://www.google.com/search?q=lmlm4...utf-8&oe=utf-8 |
According to this link: http://www.linuxmedialabs.com/ Opre3 should have it built in. **shrug** still doesn't work.
BTW XavierP...that download link you provided was to patch Opre2. Thanks for trying everyone...I guess booting Windows to watch a press conference isn't that big of a deal. ggrrrrrrrrr :D |
