touchpad problem SHMConfig

Ive been trying to change my thouchpad options by going to System> Preferences> Touchpad... but I keep getting this error...

GSynaptics couldn't initialize.
You have to set 'SHMConfig' 'true' in xorg.conf or XF86Config to use GSynaptics

I edited the xorg.conf and add the 'SHMConfig' 'true'... and i rebooted but still same problem... if anyone can just point in the right direction...

Thanx in advance...

K.H.

Are you by any chance using Fedora 9? If so, I believe this is a known bug. It is working for many people, but not others, like myself. I have tried a number of different config options (even copying the file from another working laptop), still no dice. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon.
