Top command showing 2 users

Hi

Still a newbie but I ran the Top command in a console and it showed 2 users. But I've seen elsewhere other peoples screenshots where it shows just one user.

Why is this? And is it ok?

top - 22:46:21 up 2:23, 2 users, load average: 0.06, 0.08, 0.02
Tasks: 93 total, 1 running, 92 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie
Cpu(s): 1.0% user, 1.6% system, 0.0% nice, 97.4% idle
Mem: 511280k total, 438244k used, 73036k free, 44k buffers
Swap: 1614492k total, 0k used, 1614492k free, 289716k cached

Do you have another Virtual Terminal logged in?

There are three possibilities:

1. You are logged in on another VT
2. There is a program that becomes its own user, some servers do this.
3. You could possibly have been hacked.

As root, do the "users" command. That will list all the users in the system. If you see a user you did not create, you may have a problem.

If you dont see a user you dont recognize, its normal.

Thanks! This showed me as being logged in twice, now all I have to do is work out why ;) !
