To many RPGs'!

Is it jsut me or does most of the gaming selection for Linux RPG-based games?

Wheres the First person shootem's, C&C Red Alert, Racers (Like Motocross Madness).

Am I just being lazy and not looking hard enough? I've only found Quake3 and SIMs as far as major titles go. w00t to them but we need more!

You're not alone... Many people think so. Game making companies, however, are just not interested in porting their games to Linux. Probably because most games nowadays use DirectX (which makes them automatically dependent on M$ Windoze) instead of OpenGL/OpenAL (which runs on virtually all OSs).

Dorward: Are those just install scripts that install UT from the windows UT cd rom or are they actually the real game?
In other words are they just files i run with UT cd in my drive so i can play in linux or are they the real ported game?
Thanks in advance

"They" are the same file on different servers. They contain a native port of UT to Linux that uses the data files from the Windows CD.

One thing the Linux Community should try to do, is a directX compatible 3D api, to make porting games easier.... just a thought

Why not convince some companies to make native Linux games. In my oppinion there are enough Linux users at this point, and the number is slowly rising every day. Few are the people who go back to windows after trying Linux as far as i have noticed.
If a company starts making native Linux games it might make good money... I Guess companies are scared because of what happened to Loki...
Just my two cents...
