Did you see the logs?

Check your mysql logs, if you have a binary package installed they should be at /var/logs/mysql/error.log
Please post the las lines of that file so we can help you

Post Maybe is your PHP config

After search for a while i've found this post at http://drupal.org/node/437512

And i think this could be the solution to your trouble:

I had the same issue when I logged onto my site this morning. After some searching I found a module that took care of this issue for me. I recommend using it and it is simple to install, enable, and use. It is the drupal_tweaks module. Just follow the install instructions then once it is all enable go into your php tab and change your php limit. I changed mine to 256M before it took care of the problem.
Hope that help you. Have a nice day

I was able to resolve this issue without much trouble by deleting unnecessary files.
