Thunderbird and Evolution mail clients

I am building a dual boot machine (winXP and Ubuntu 5.10)

I want to make it so that the same mail folders are seen in the Linux mail client as is the Windows mail client.

I want to use Evolution in the Linux environment and as Evolution for Windows is not released yet, then Thunderbird is my next choice.

Does anyone know if Evolution and Thunderbird can read the same mail boxes and address books without the user having to import everytime?

My other question is, where does Evolution store its mail box and address book data?

Regards,
Greenie

I don't think they can read the same data. Evolution stores it's data in /home/<username>/.evolution/mail.

Yeah, I don't think that will work. I see articles about the difficulty in sharing a thunderbird profile between both OSes, but sharing the actual mail seems like it won't work.

Peace,

I was able to Install Thunderbird on Linux parition and Windows partition then point Thunderbird to mail folders on a shared partition.

Thunderbird under both OS environments sees the same mail messages, so that works great.

Its a pity I couldnt use Evolution because it has the calendar capability.
