Thunderbird 3.1.1.10, not finding sent e-mail in Send folder any more

Using Thunderbird 3.1.10 and no longer can see copies of my sent messages in the Sent Folder. I tried to tick the box in account settings to save a copy and it would not take the change. What I did notice is that the e-mails sent are being received on the other end, but I do not have a copy in the Sent folder. It seems as though my e-mail account has been hijacked, and I changed my e-mail account password as a precaution. I am also getting e-mail BACK in my in box that I sent to other people. My AT&T account uses yahoo and my account through AT&T was originally bellsouth.net What can I do to make sure I get a copy of all of my e-mail sent out? Thank you for help and suggestions. New to Linux, on the upside of the learning curve. :-)

Hi curtis41, welcome to LQ. There is a thread in the Mozilla forums that addresses this issue with several solutions.

Good luck. ;-)

No copies in sent folder under Linux Mint 10 Thunderbird 3.1.10

I ticked the box in account settings in Thunderbird to save copies of e-mail to Sent folder. Deleted all the .msf extension files, that did not fix the problem. Question: When you make a change to the account settings, are they saved automatically upon exit from the account setting change you made? Next time I look at the account setting folder, the change is NOT shown and no sent e-mails appear in the Sent folder, still. I even reinstalled Thunderbird and it STILL will not save a copy of e-mails in the Sent folder. Don't know what to try next. I should point out that Thunderbird was saving a copy of sent e-mails just fine earlier.

Reading that thread, I believe you'll need to create a new profile. Read the thread all the way through. Unless I'm mistaken, uninstalling and reinstalling won't delete your profile.

Good luck. ;-)

Reinstalling did not erase the default profile. Created a new one and imported the addresses and e-mail I needed to keep. Thanks for the advise. Problem solved.
