Question this system is not registerd with RHN , RHN support will be disable


hi , u all i want to install gcc on Redhat linux 5 ,
but getting error message of
this system is not registerd with RHN ,
RHN support will be disable

no package gcc available
nothing to do

Hi,

you should either sign up and pay for RHN, or switch to a distribution that provides updates/packages for free. If you want to continue to use something RHEL like, you should consider using CentOS.

Yes, that's right.
BTW, the latest RHEL/Centos is 6.4 and you'll need to do a fresh install.
