This might be a stupid question-but...

I was wondering if there is such a distro that has a combo web browser/file manager, a terminal, and say abiword-but no X, as in no Xorg/xvesa/x11,etc.?
I am asking because I have a low-ram laptop and was wondering if such things as a web browser, etc can run without X?
I'll use Slax-Frodo as an example-except It doesn't have abiword, web browser , but does have Midnight Commander.
If it is possible-can someone please explain HOW?
Thanks!

file manager -midgnight commander http://www.midnight-commander.org/

terminal? if you don't have X then you are at a terminal, unless you mean one that can use a modem and/or seriel line
in which case you want minicom
