Question Thinkpad 600E/Redhat7.2 X Server Hangs

Hi All,

I'm new to this list, and VERY new to Linux. (though very interested!)

Recently I installed Redhat Linux 7.2 on my Thinkpad 600E. I've been getting along very well, except for occasional system hangs. My online research suggests that the problem is probably a result of some X Windows /NeoMagic video hardware conflict. When the computer hangs, I can't kill the session with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace, in fact Ctrl-Alt-Del won't even restart the machine. All I can do is kill the power and reboot.

I've run across several online references to this type of problem with Thinkpads and Redhat 7, but have yet to find a definitive solution. Any suggestions or references would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
mark
