there is wine and there is no wine at the same time!


strange things happen with my wine: it does not work, synaptic crashes when i try to uninstall it and when i try to install it, it says i already have it installed!!
please help.
there are my error messages (fedora core 1):

[root@localhost eewald]# yum install wine
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: Fedora Linux 1 - i386 - core
Server: Fedora Linux 1 - i386 - freshrpms
Server: Fedora Linux 1 - i386 - updates
Finding updated packages
Downloading needed headers
wine is installed and is the latest version.
No actions to take
[root@localhost eewald]# yum remove wine

Server: Fedora Linux 1 - i386 - freshrpms
Server: Fedora Linux 1 - i386 - updates

I will do the following:
[erase: wine 20031016-1rh73winehq.i386]

There should be '--force' command or one with similar result available when installing a package. It should work and install it for you.

apt-get --force install wine
or
yum --force install wine
won't work.
does anyone know is there a wrong command or am i missing something else?

I meant 'rpm -i package --force'. You need to download the package before you start.
