the system hang ,
In my Redhat 6 server , I have installed a database on it and just use it .
I just found that when I connect database and write data to it , the system seems hang a few minutes , then it will be resumed , a few tiems a day . I guess may be it used up the system resource that caused it hang , but I don't know what system resource eg. CPU , I/O , process id , memory or network traffic etc is used up , would advise how can I fix the case ? thanks |
What database are you using MySQL, Postgres or what?
What's the specs of the RedHat server? Try using: iostat, systat to monitor disk I/O operation. And since you're using RH if you have subscription, then you can check with RH Tech support. |

The easiest way would be for you to get Red Hat support to analyze an SOS report...you are PAYING FOR RHEL, RIGHT???? |

Good luck! |
Start by showing us some info eg 'top' cmd.
Also disk 'df -h' BTW. without a subscription you can't support OR updates from RH - this is leaving all current bugs in the system, inc security ones... You should REALLY get a subscription or switch to Centos, where at least you'll get updates. |
